The application form for the 2008 Middle Level and High School Principal of the Year, the Assistant Principal of the Year, and the CTE Adminstrator of the Year is now available.

Okay, here we go.

1) CEPD Administrator packages with all the letters for the CEPD were sent out Friday, 2/8. Letters to fiscal superintendents were deliberately held until 2/13 to ensure CEPD Administrators received their packets PRIOR to the fiscal superintendent. (Just in case someone wonders why letters were sent to fiscal superintendents, we must follow Added Cost protocol, because these are the agencies that receive the funds and are also the agencies responsible for the required data collection and other reporting).

America's Forgotten Middle-Skill Jobs

The demand for workers to fill jobs in the middle of the labor market—those that require more than high-school, but less than a four-year degree—will likely remain quite robust relative to its supply, especially in key sectors of the economy. Accordingly, we see a need for increased U.S. investment in high-quality education and training in the middle of the skills range—not just for college graduates in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.
