Are any MS/HS using an on-line antibullying training for students?

We are exploring ways to support our anti-bullying policy with an on-line segment for students. Safeschools.com has such a program tailored to teacher training. Additionally, is anyone aware of Professional Development opportunities or resources for guest speakers / resources / books etc... in this same theme of Anti-Bullying?

Are there any schools that are restructuring hours or time within the school day?

The need driving the change to support struggling students or provide other opportunities for higher achieving students? ie, "o" hour ,7 period day, combining or shortening classes to carve out specific time for this support?

Please tell me how many math problems teachers are assigning as homework.

Does your high school currently have a requirement that students need a 70% to pass classes?

At Ogemaw Heights, regular education students must pass a class with 70%. If they do not have at least 70%, they must do additional work to prove that they are proficient. I am interested in finding out how many other schools are currently using 70% or higher instead of 60%.

We are doing some preliminary investigating and I could use some information from any of you who have the experience in implementing trimesters. Questions:
How long have you had it in place?
Do you see a positive correlation to academic achievement?
Has it cost you ($$-wise)and if yes, when (what year) did the cost increase become most apparent?
Have any of you who have gone to trimesters then gone back to semesters?
How has the community "bought in"?
Your overall experience in implementing: positive or negative AND how long did it take you to implement?

Foreign Exchange Student wanting to return for a 2nd year to graduate

We have a foreign exchange student from Taiwan who has expressed a desire to return to our high school for a second year and graduate as one of our students (earning a diploma). She has provided a transcript of classes that she has taken in Taiwan. Does anyone have any experience or have an established protocol for a situation like this?

Are there any districts that make allowances for student driving to CTC based only on student request with parental permission?

Transportation for Career Technical Centers – We are considering allowing our students to drive to the Career Technical Center with their parent’s permission. We currently allow students to drive only for academic, work, or for individual special circumstances. Are there any districts that make allowances for student driving based only on student request with parental permission? What issues need to be addressed when considering this kind of policy?

We are looking at online options for high school courses and credit recovery options. We are looking at Aventa and Michigan Virtual University. MVU has had some issues in the past. Does anyone have a recommendation or insight (positive or negative) on these or other online options?

Does the state law give a judge the power to force enrollment into a closed school district?

A mother entered my office with a letter from a judge stating the young man must be enrolled...we are a closed school district that does not accept students from outside the district...wouldn't his home district have an issue with us taking his pupil account money?
